Runner's Rant!

Whoop! Whoop!!

Mama got out for a morning run, it's been a FABULOUS week of RUNNING!! I'm back on a routine and I am loving every single second of it!! The moment my feet hit the pavement, trail, whatever terrain it is!! I've logged in 10.39 Miles thus far!! WHOOHOOO!!

As soon as Leanna crossed the street to the school gate, I popped in my earbuds, turned up the tunes (Mumford & Sons latest album) and got to RUNNING!!
I RAN 4 Boo! MILES in 56:05!!! One more RUN this weekend and will complete the Virtual Boo! Half-Marathon!! Whoop! Whoop!! I haven't had a "long" run since August, it was killer with the double jogger. Whewww, Mama got it done!!!

We headed out on the roadways, it's a fantastic warm-up with a slight incline.
There's those hills that I can't avoid, any which way I go!
After all, we are in Washington, duh!!
I kept it "easy" on the hills, a little struggle!
I have a need for speed.

Yep, I pushed [BURNING Arms & Glutes] UPHILL and it was HARDCORE!!
Whew; SUPER MAMA!!
Took it through the trails for the last mile stretch!

Cool down with a view on the way home!
I just can't get enough of these views!!
Today, I received a fabulous package from my MUG SWAP partner!!
Loving all the cuteness!!
She was super thoughtful to add some things for my girls!

Thankful Thursday!

I'm thankful for coffee, it was a rough 9 day streak!
Last month, I went on a 15 day streak of NO SUGAR, my coffee was black, I actually enjoyed it!
I need my daily dose of caffeine first thing in the morning, don't judge!!

I'm thankful for happy girls, who LOVE [to explore] the great outdoors!

I'm thankful for the fabulous fall weather that [finally] rolled into town!!
We took a pre-dinner walk to the base Redbox to return a movie.
And, we came back with one each. Hah!

I'm totally loving this cooler weather!!
The colors are just AMAZING in the PNW!!
I'm thankful for their craziness; I love it
They logged in 1.44 miles for the Kids Run This Town Virtual Challenge!!
They are close to 5 miles in October.
They are EARNING those fabulous medals!!
I'm thankful for week of fabulous BLING mail, that I've been receiving!!
Today, I received the virtual half-marathon medal from the August Race, The Bug Run!

Wednesday RunDay!

Mama was on the Run this morning!! I laced up my running shoes, loaded up baby girls in the double jogger and turned up the tunes for a fabulous morning [base] run!!

It was a FOGGY morning and we even caught a little drizzle halfway through. I made a quick stop at the Base Redbox to get my girl a rental. She was happy, and they enjoyed the views ahead! It was actually the first time I took them along on the particular route. It's usually a route for SOLO Runs, since it's along the base roadways but we kept as far from the road, as the pavement allowed. I felt AMAZING, not much pain on my knee, however, my foot was a little annoyed so, I kept easing off of it with a couple of "slow" paced intervals and was easy on the hills. Oh, those hills, can't avoid them in Washington. We logged in 3.27 Boo! Miles in 44:18.

Runner's Rant!!

Hello, Tuesday!!

That Busy Day where my morning starts between 5:30-6, followed by waking the girls up at 6:30 and we are all ready and out the door by 7:50ish. School Drop off for my Preschooler, back home for lunch prep and out the door to walk first grader to gate.

Moms Run This Town Meetup: We had a New Mama, who just moved back into the area, she wanted to get out and be active. We walked 3 miles to ease her back into it. As you can see, I pushed the double jogger, still haven't gotten my wheels fixed for the single, it's on my to-do list. No worries, Baby Girl had one of her baby princess' keep her company. Seems like we are back to the regular Washington weather; gloomy and cold!

Treadmill Run: After our surprise Skype Date with our man during lunch, we went to the gym. It's been a while since I stepped foot on the treadmill, I logged in my first 5k in (36:22) for the Boo! Half-Marathon Virtual Race!! I felt AMAZING, kept it easy with soft/hard intervals. Mama is back at it, and the girls did awesome in the playroom; no climbing!! WhooHoo!!!

On our walk home, we checked the mail and received the medals for Kids Run This Town! Ailea was SO excited and wanted to tattoo her self right away but we are saving them for the final day, also wearing the medals at the end!! They've began logging in miles and we've enjoyed the sunshine on those days!! It also doubles apart of Leanna's daily homework for her physical activity log. They love the running more than walking!

What is Kids Run This Town Virtual Challenge?

This is a month long event that will encourage kids ages 2-14 get out there and run or walk!  Here’s how the event will work:
For the month of OCTOBER your little divas and dudes will log their miles.  Let them borrow your gps watch, measure the distance in your neighborhood or let them run on a track…. we aren’t being exact here – but PLEASE try to be as accurate as possible!!!  Keep a log for each day they walk/run.  At the end of the month we will post a form for you to fill out to log their miles.
We will tally up the total miles for everyone participating and see who RULES THE ROAD – is it the DIVAS or is it the DUDES!!!
The winning gender will be the “prize pool” for the grand prize – but we will have prizes for BOTH genders!!! Miles are only to be counted from Oct 1st – Oct 31st.

Muddy Mama

Talk about bussaaayyyyy!!!

Up like a normal day getting my girls ready. I Dropped off my girls at my friends place and headed to the Extreme K MUD RUN!! It was at a farm, spotted a few loose chicken roaming and horses nearby. I had the FIRST WAVE, 9AM!! And, it was COLD, I wore my Texas Longhorns Shirt to represent!!! Hook Em'! I was freezing during the wait. They announced to have tape on shoes and gloves on, I had neither!!! I've never used them in the past 2 mud runs. I was a little worried, okay, a lot!! So, I squatted down to tighten them!!

"Run, walk, slip, slide, crawl and climb your way through this wooded, muddy, insane, U. S. Marine tested, 5K, obstacle-filled course for the first ever Extreme K Mud Run!"

This was the FIRST time in a LONG time, that I had a SOLO run, and in the woody-made trails. Can you imagine my excitement!? I was taking it easy, not trying to wreck my knee, and I felt AMAZING!! Did I mention, I had NO COFFEE (DAY 5)!! Whoa; I was full of adrenaline!! I managed to conquer all but 3 major obstacles. And, I'm PROUD, those were the ones that looked the most "dangerous" for my knee. Especially the crazy slide, that left another mudder runner with a broken leg/ankle. I was actually going to go for it, I was the 2nd in line, and then she yelled!! I opted out and went down the slope via ROPE. Agh!! The obstacle course was really spread out, through the woods, MUD, farmlands,....I LOVE IT!! It was alittle bittersweet seeing men in uniform, reminded me of my husband. ::sniff, sniff::

I got some fabulous SWAG; including a dog tag, "I survived Extreme K Mud Run", and Tech Shirt!! I washed off my shoes and dropped them in the donation pile. I was a Happy Muddy Mama!! I had to rush as soon as I could, SOCCER MAMA MODE!! Yep, I changed out my muddy top for a dry one and still was filthy of mud, DRY MUD!! My girl did AWESOME today rotating between player and goalie. She made 2 goals and blocked a few too. We are SO proud of her. And, I adore when she cheers on every goal from her team and the opposing team. True Team Spirit!!
