Motivational Monday!

It's a new week. It's a new start. It's time to get busy on y'alls fitness goals!!

Tell me what you want, what you really, really, really want? Is it a slimmer waist? Leaner arms? Strong legs? Do you want to run? Lift?
Just get busy with whatever it is,...YOU ARE YOUR ONLY EXCUSE!! And, don't let a little sweat, soreness, or heavy-breathing stop you. Take a minute to recovery and just.keep.going. You will enjoy that adrenaline rush after it's done. buhh-lieveee me.

I got a rough 8 miler done last night, night. I know. I mentioned I was on the oh, so early [wake up at 4am & go] running routine but I had some heavy legs when I woke up. SO, I gave them more rest time before I got out there with my long run. It's the last week of the 8 Week Crash Half Plan, this was an awesome schedule. It kept me at low [3-4] miles during the week, I'm probably going to continue to run with it. It's taper week, can't wait to get out there for the Tacoma Narrow Half {13 in 2013}, number 5 for my road races this year. And, crossing over the Narrows bridge will be AMAZING!! It's one thing I can cross off my runners bucket list!! I'm still on the fence for the Port Gamble Half, just depends if we are out of town for the night.

And, I'm on WEEK 11 of the Les Mills Hybrid. And, boy are they giving me the tough [longer] workouts in the final 2 weeks. I even added Jillian Michaels Shred-It with Weights [Kettle bell Routine] this morning. I definitely felt the burn. I won't see drastic results from this round but it did kick my ass into gear. Like any Beachbody program, you have to include healthy eating or their meal plans. I failed in that area, and I'm okay with that. {keeping it real} I'm staying focused with my original workout schedules and ending the year with a BAM!! For a good minute, I wanted to jump on the Focus T25 hype-wagon but decided to stay with my Turbofire/Les Mills Pump Hybrid. I've had Turbofire since last year and it's time I get busy with it. Also, adding 20lb plates to my collection for a bigger challenge during Les Mills Pump's REP EFFECT! Y'all want to learn more about BeachBody Programs, check out my site: Rosanna BeachBody Coach

I've been a busy pinner for the last couple of days; creating new boards, and pinning like it's my day job. I've got lots of good resources, ideas and tips to turn to. Anyone else a pinner crazy? Share your boards with me. I'm sure I'll re-pin from y'all!!

We're half-way through summer and I FINALLY got some events created for the MRTT Kids Fit Club!! SO, if you're reading this and are local, join in!! We have to take advantage of that sunshine while we still got it. Plus, we need to keep this kiddos active while having fun!!

Enough chit-chat, I have to go clear the disastrous office/craft area! And, remove all these floating toys out of my living room. Let Mama's cleaning frenzy begin.

Have a Fit & Fabulous Day Y'all!! Go get ir done.

"Running the Gulf" 615 [deployment] Miles!

If y'all know me by now, y'all know I love CHALLENGES!!

And, now I jumped into a hefty challenge. The MWR STENNIS, announced their, "Running the Gulf", by running/elliptical 615 miles until the end of deployment. Sweet, right!?

What does this mama do on a Monday, laced up her running shoes, and headed to the gym after snack time. It was a CRAZY WINDY morning, leaves were flying everywhere, grounds were covered in fabulous colors. My girls were loving the walk to the gym, KIDS RUN THIS TOWN MILES!! I patiently waited for a treadmill, I stretched while those other joggers did their thing, and 30 minutes later it was time. Luckily, my girls were pretty content during that wait and while I went running. There were a few walking intervals and I kept pushing myself, I aimed for a 5k but decided to keep going. I was pouring sweat, like major, I stinky sweat. My bondi band was soaked, as was my shirt.
Finished Strong; 3.84 in 40 minutes.

I've created a document to log in my 'stennis miles'. I'm excited for this 'deployment distraction' and love racking up those miles. There's a game plan in motion too, and I'm pretty excited!! Now, to get my husband on this challenge!!
JOIN IN; it'll be a nice distraction. You know you want to RUN!! :D

Geez! Time flew by today, It's almost time to go pick up my oldest from school. After, my run, we came home, prepared lunch, cleaned, got the girls down for naptime. And, then got busy LIFTING for week 10/day 1 of Les Mills Pump. Whewww, my upper arm was sore from this morning Flu Shot but I got it done!! I definitely earned my mid-day shower, I was a SWEATY HOT MESS!! Now, to continue my cleaning frenzy, tonight Mama gets to R-E-L-A-X!!

Hello, October!!

Phew!! It's been a BUSY few days!!

My girl had her FIRST Soccer Game for 2012, Saturday Morning. I am one PROUD SOCCER MAMA!! She went in there, NO FEAR! She cheered on her teammates even on the opposing team after each goal was made. And, at the end, reminded everyone, "It's not about winning, it's about having fun." She's definitely a champ in my book. We got home and held down the couch for the rest of the weekend. I got a lot of details squared away for the upcoming Fall Festival. It's a busy-fun month of events for us, apple dipping, happy {crafty} hour, pie party,.....whoohoo!!!

As we relaxed, I kept my bum knee elevated, iced and tried to remain away from the staircase but couldn't with chores and busy with girls. I also, spent some time updating the October Calendar with a few favorite "oldies" added back in. Notice, my friend, Jillian, she's back!! Today also starts the MRTT Holiday Challenge, first up is, Frightfully Fabulous Arms!! I'm adding an Arms routine to tomorrows Moms Run This Town Meetup, using the great outdoors!!

EARLY this morning, I welcomed October with a double workout BEFORE waking the girls for the day. It's WEEK 6 for Les Mills Pump!! I'm HALFWAY through the program, and with 30lbs on the bar, it was INTENSE!! Jillian had my heart pumping, she's still killer!! I kind of missed that lady. It's always a good time to go back to the routines you first started with!! I stayed away from squats and lunges, anything that would make my knee "click", still got sweaty and muscles burning; fabulous feeling!! I'll be ending the day with my fabulous BOSU Routine!! Whew!!

I also, had my physical therapy appointment, after this and that, he determined that I had Runner's Knee!! As a result, of that major downhill RUN back in August, I took on too much to the cartridge, luckily no major rehab or surgery. They did do X-RAYs just to be safe.  I've been hearing clicking from the knee since Wednesday and he said that's not a big issue, and common; still no fun hearing it. Running isn't eliminated, I do have to ease into it, Whew!! I was RELIEVED to hear that. Same thing with Spinning. I have a few different rehab exercises to do 2-3 times daily. And, need to focus on my stretching. Hello,YOGA! Back to the calendar to tweek the upcoming routines, I'm EXCITED to add a BIG piece of equipment to my gym; SO EXCITED!!

REST day!

Les Mills Pump calls for a REST day and I'm on top of it!!!

BUSAAYYYY Day ahead!! School drop off, Preschool Tour, yes...I'm still on the search! And, then helping a friend with a ride. Getting BUSAAYYY during naptime with last minute calls/details for this evening's FRG Social Meeting!! Lots of planning ahead for events during depoyment; Excited to finally get the ball rollin'!

It's also our Mans 30th BIRTHDAY!! Although, he is a day ahead, so it was actually "yesterday" for him. Here's the "card" he got from us via FB. We always tell each other, we have the most beautiful girls. And, we do!! I can't get enough of them even when they drive me up the wall, it's worth it. I'm one PROUD Mama!!

And, then I surprised his with a few snapshots from my Railroad Photo Session with the girls.
He LOVED THEM!!
Have a Fabulous Fitness-Filled or Rest Day!!

Wednesday Rest Day!!

Soft of. I did my Pump & Burn at 6am as usual for Les Mills Pump; OUCH!!!!
I was feeling the BURN from the last 2 days of workouts, especially BOOTCAMP!
I had planned to join the Fit Club, a first time housing event but decided not to.
I need to give my body a little more time to soak in my "planned" workout.

My upper body is feeling STRONG and I'm loving the feeling a, once again, growing biceps. More tricep work on deck!!

Thursday Talk about it

Thursday Talk About it; How's you fabulous week of fitness/running going?

I'm still trying to catch my breathe from yesterday! It was like an never-ending day!
And, today will be no different. Day 2 of Back to School and Thursdays are an 1:55 early release day. It kills naptime, or I have to be quick about lunch. I am attenting a meeting for a local Moms & More group. I've actually been looking for group like MOPS, ever heard of them? Well, they also have Military MOPS and there isn't one locally. So, it looks like I might venture into that. Pretty Excited. I've always been pretty social and with the current deployment, I'm continuously branching out. I'm even the Social Chair [Event Planning] for the Ship's Family Readiness Group. I've had a list full of ideas and I'm READY to make it happen!!

I started my workout this morning at 6:10, Les Mills Flow!! Wheww, I needed a good stretch.
I'll be catching up on some Spinning later tonight. I only 10miles into my 100s for the week.
Yesterdays Moms Run This Town Meetup, was great. After posting the photo from the Meetup, a few Mama's said they are in for next week. Whoop! Whoop!! I even mentioned MRTT and my Bootcamps to the housing office, they seemed VERY interested, and said they are always looking for events to promote for military spouses as housing events. They actually have a Fit Club starting, with another BeachBody consultant. I'll be switching the Wednesday RunDays to Tuesdays, I want to check out this class. I'm always looking to mix up my routine, keep it FRESH!!

I have an appointment Friday afternoon to check out my knee. The little pain comes and goes and it's time to get it checked out. Wah!! It was not an issue during yesterdays run.
I have 2 Virtual 5ks this weekends; The Cupcake Race & 9/11 Memorial!! Let's get it!!

Happy Running Y'all!!

Les Mills Pump!

WEEK ONE/DAY ONE!!
What better way to kill a deployment than to start this Amazing 13 week program?!?!?

I'm back to this fabulous BeachBody Program, LES MILL PUMP!!

I started the program earlier this year, in January, went 10 straight weeks. It gave FABULOUS results, gave my arms some definition, biceps came alive, legs were STRONG! This is ONE of the 3 programs I am planning to keep me "BUSY/FIT" during this LONG deployment that husband is on.
This round, I'll complete the 13 weeks, I'm looking forward to it; I have another set of weights to add in, 7.5lbs. So, I'll be lifting HEAVY, I'm sure I'll add more halfway through!! LIFTING is apart of my TONING PHASE and I LOVE it!!

If your instrested, you can visit my BeachBody site and order it. You will LOVE the REP EFFECT!!! It's a KILLER workout; squats, lunges, deadlifts, ..... keeps you going!!
KIA KAHA; BE STRONG!!

Day 17; Favorite Workout Routine

Share your favorite workout routine.
Well, this should be interesting, because I don't have ONE Favorite, Working out is "my thing", I LOVE doing it. Each one of my MANY routines is ENJOYABLE, and WORTH IT!! Here's my share and why.

I LOVE feeling the pavement or trail underneath my feet during a RUN. It doesn't matter where the Run starts, but I most always prefer the outdoors!! I LOVE exploring, the nature, the beauty of it. I LOVE that I've meet SO many Mother Runners. Even, getting involved with a local group, and planning group runs. I LOVE the results I've earned over the past year, from finding peace to weight loss to racing to this blog as another outlets. It's had SO many benefits in my life. Even, my girls LOVE to RUN with Mama, or watch Mama Run, talk about Mama Running, and ask when I'm going to another Race. Leanna has a race under her belt. It's a beautiful thing y'all!
Running in the Rain. Running with Snow Falling.

  Running/Crawling in the Mud

Running with my Girls. They LOVE it too!! Another Workout I LOVE. Finishing a Race with my girls cheering alongside.
Running with the Double Jogger. We are a family that RUNS!!

Leanna has a race under her belt.

I LOVE when my booty BURNS during a SPIN Session;  the way my legs feel strong with each [standing] pedal and the sweatfest. I LOVE that one of my goals for next year is to become CERTIFIED as a Spin Instructor. I LOVE that others have given Spin a go and also loved the SORE/BURN it gave. It's pretty amazing!

I LOVE that I LIFT the bar with 30+lbs, during deadlifts, squats, lunges, clean & press, rows, overheard shoulder press, etc during Les Mills Pump. It made my BICEPS pop during my first round. The REP EFFECT is Insane. And, I'm pretty excited I found a pair of 7.5lbs to add to my collection!! Also, excited to complete another round, 13 weeks!!

I LOVE the short week I spent "digging deep" with INSANITY; the way the sweat dripped during his infamous routines of Plyo, Cardio and I'm looking forward to Restarting the Program this Winter. This is definitely one INSANE Routine, everyone knows it!!

I LOVE how I feel my CORE getting stronger with each Rep while on the BOSU and how much my balance has improved on it.  And, I LOVE how my girls think it's the coolest thing ever using it as a balancing toy for themselves and bouncy ball off the couch. It doesn't happen often, only when I pull it out of for a workout.

I LOVE the way YOGA stretches my body out and how I take time to listen to my body during the routine. You can't go wrong with Bob or Jillian.

Oh, those Kettlebells, the sweetest Valentine's Gift from my Man, the make it happen, I LOVE it!! Even the Kettle bells are a workout I LOVE!!!

I absolutely LOVE how, I have almost every single of Jillian Micheal's Workout DVD and always go it for a Killer Workout. She knows what's up from Killer Buns to Kickboxing to Kettle bells.

Can't forget the great outdoors. I LOVE the idea of getting other Mama's together, for a "bootcamp" style workout and letting the kiddo's play and participate. There was NO excuse (other than weather, then it would be indoors)!!! So, I started while ship was on deployment and now, I'm looking forward to resuming classes, this time with Amazing locations. What kid doesn't LOVE to explore their surrounding?!?! Mine sure do!! I've got my fitness calendar filling up between Running, Meetups, and Bootcamp. Helping other Ladies shed lbs, start a routine, get moving, get fit, keep busy.

Hello, August!!

Talk about getting busy!! The other day a FB Friend, liked a page which reminded me to search for the local group of  "Moms Run this Town". WHOOHOO!! A few weeks ago, I saw a post on their FB page mentioning it, and I remember coming across it on meetup.com. Easy as that; Like & Join!! An awesome support system and I look forward to becoming more active with. I joined the Running Group (If your LOCAL join in:https://www.facebook.com/groups/131672926965294/) & Weight Loss Support Group.
{Side Note: Once school starts, I'll resume the "Bootcamp", I'm READY to get back out there with other Mama's for Fitness & Playdate Fun!!}

Perfect Timing because I kind of hit a wall with my fitness journey, starting birth control a few months ago, not only made me miserable, it packed on about 10 lbs. I know I helped in that process with minimum workouts and eating crazily. I stopped as soon as husband went underway. No change, my foot pain, had me take it easy on my intense workouts, which lead to almost days of no routine. SO, I'm taking my back my RUNNING Routine (pacing myself, still working with the foot pain) and starting a few Fitness Challenges!! The Weight Loss Support Group: Moms Run This Town (found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mrtt.weightloss/) have a Lean and Mean Challenge for August. It's focusing on inches not pounds; whew, less stressful, right?!

  • Running
  • Spinning
  • Les Mills Pump; Strength [weight] Training
  • Kettlebell Routine; Strength [weight] Training
  • The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans, Gold Medal Ass August Challenge (found here: http://shrinkingjeans.net/2012/08/gold-medal-ass/#). Print it and do it. I love that it has BURPEES & SQUATS, yes, I love the BURN it gives!!!
  • Healthy Eating (Clean [like] Eating)
  • No SODA, limit caffeines like coffee, energy drinks (It's a BAD habit, I know!)

So, there you have it!! I have 13 lbs to lose, not losing it all this month, I actually have a deployment ahead to have fun with. Starting Weight is 160 lbs (I was at my lightest Mid-Feb 147).

DAY 1; already started with 20 Pump Challenge (20lbs on the bar) & Gold Medal Ass Challenge (10 Squats, 30s Burpees, 15s Wall Sit), Next up, heading outdoors with girls, walk/jog/run while enjoying this fabulous weather!!
