Moms Run This Town!!

Aghh, it's been happening, almost daily. Waking up to a headache and it lingers on throughout the day. Not quite sure what is going on but I still got out there for some miles.

Today, we enjoyed walking instead of running during our Moms Run This Town Meetup.
We also had our preschoolers off from school, so it worked out perfectly.

The morning was chilly, no rain, a little sunshine. perfect really. Just another fabulous fall day in Washington. We've gotten lucky with our MRTT Meetups lately, no rain. I REALLY have to order my rain cover soon, for when we aren't so lucky. My girls were full of DRAMA, in and out of the jogger, on and off my hip. Added resistance during the walk.

We chatted, laughed, talked about upcoming events, like the Disney on Ice show we are taking our kids on. A SURPRISE for my girls and FIRST for us. I'm SUPER EXCITED!!

We logged in 2.40 in 1:27:19.
I'll certainly have some fresh legs for tomorrow nights Dawn of the Dead Dash, especially after my first shift at work. Looking forward to a busy FUN day!!

Runner's Rant!!

Hello, Tuesday!!

That Busy Day where my morning starts between 5:30-6, followed by waking the girls up at 6:30 and we are all ready and out the door by 7:50ish. School Drop off for my Preschooler, back home for lunch prep and out the door to walk first grader to gate.

Moms Run This Town Meetup: We had a New Mama, who just moved back into the area, she wanted to get out and be active. We walked 3 miles to ease her back into it. As you can see, I pushed the double jogger, still haven't gotten my wheels fixed for the single, it's on my to-do list. No worries, Baby Girl had one of her baby princess' keep her company. Seems like we are back to the regular Washington weather; gloomy and cold!

Treadmill Run: After our surprise Skype Date with our man during lunch, we went to the gym. It's been a while since I stepped foot on the treadmill, I logged in my first 5k in (36:22) for the Boo! Half-Marathon Virtual Race!! I felt AMAZING, kept it easy with soft/hard intervals. Mama is back at it, and the girls did awesome in the playroom; no climbing!! WhooHoo!!!

On our walk home, we checked the mail and received the medals for Kids Run This Town! Ailea was SO excited and wanted to tattoo her self right away but we are saving them for the final day, also wearing the medals at the end!! They've began logging in miles and we've enjoyed the sunshine on those days!! It also doubles apart of Leanna's daily homework for her physical activity log. They love the running more than walking!

What is Kids Run This Town Virtual Challenge?

This is a month long event that will encourage kids ages 2-14 get out there and run or walk!  Here’s how the event will work:
For the month of OCTOBER your little divas and dudes will log their miles.  Let them borrow your gps watch, measure the distance in your neighborhood or let them run on a track…. we aren’t being exact here – but PLEASE try to be as accurate as possible!!!  Keep a log for each day they walk/run.  At the end of the month we will post a form for you to fill out to log their miles.
We will tally up the total miles for everyone participating and see who RULES THE ROAD – is it the DIVAS or is it the DUDES!!!
The winning gender will be the “prize pool” for the grand prize – but we will have prizes for BOTH genders!!! Miles are only to be counted from Oct 1st – Oct 31st.

Fitness Friday!!

Another EARLY Start; Another Duty Day for husband!!

The Sunshine was out in WA, SO, we took it to the track early this morning, 8:30!!
Girls loved running around and exploring, and luckily it wasn't busy with other [military] folks. There was a few laps where Leanna (took a lap to herself) or Ailea ran alongside me, I also took turns "racing" with Leanna. Overall, I enjoyed it. So HAPPY, they were all in good moods, sometimes I'm not so lucky. Hah. I got myself 2 miles, paused a few times to attend to girls, and paced the "beginning" of an aching foot. It's safe to say, that I do need an insole for my right foot. I've worn 2 different running shoes (one pair doesn't have more than 30miles on it), one more supportive than the other and it's the same area that gets irritated. The doctor also recommended this when I went in to get it checked out. Bummer but doable!
