Tuesday Tunes

This week, I can't seem to get enough of this song...
it makes smile, makes me sing along, makes me bop my head,
makes me dance, makes me want a beer, don't judge..
....MMmm...motorboating...
And, I do in fact workout to country music.
Yeahh, it's mellow but I love it!

What song is on replay for you this week?

*cough, cough*

I don't get sick often but when I do, I feel it coming on days before it actually hits.
And, I felt it last week...I took it 'easy' when I could but still couldn't escape it.
Then baby girls started showing symptoms; coughing & runny noses.

So, when I woke up today, I was feeling horrible, kept pushing through it.
Still got dressed in my running gear and laced up my running shoes. Yes, I was set.
As soon as Leanna was off to school, I ran a quick errand before coming back home.
Once, at home, I realized I was NOT going to have a good run, so instead I stayed home.
I jumped onto the elliptical, while the girls watched a new [favorite] movie.
Great thing about this, I forgot how quick of a BURN you feel  on the elliptical.
Logged in 2.31 'stennis miles' in 35:00. Nice & Slow Burning.

Then I dropped down to the ground for the November [Daily] Challenge;

Plank 1:16
Push Ups 26
Tricep Dips 37

Now, to rest up, gloomy [rainy] Washington days are my favorite kinds of days.
Stay away sunshine!!
I love the Pacific Northwest. LOVE IT!

Mama on the go-go-go

It's 10:30 on a Sunday & I should probably be sleeping.
Instead, I'm just enjoying the peace & rainfall.
We had a fabulous fun-filled busy weekend.
First weekend in November is done!

Saturday, this Mama doesn't sleep in, she goes running!!
If I want to reach 615 miles before end of deployment,
I must keep moving, errr....running!
Slipped into my running tights, laced up my running shoes,
and got my 3 girls ready for the gym.
Squeezed in some super sweaty 'stennis miles'
treadmill 5k in 34:34.
Back home after a Sweaty Run for
Baby Girl dropped down to keep me entertained.
My time is improving since September.
I did the plank-a-day challenge then too.
Glad to switch it up with variations.
By the way, my back was feeling the pups/tricep dips.
Whewwww!!
Then, it was time to get ready for
Leanna's Last soccer game
It was a RAINY game and at the end we were soaked!!
She did awesome & is hanging up her cleets,
Basketball is on deck for her next sport!
We went home for WARM bath/showers & I got ready for work.
I ended up taking a LONG shift 3:45-11:00.
WHEW!! My feet were aching!!
I can't express how Thankful I am for awesome friends.
Especially during a deployment; fabulous support.
I say it often, I tell them often.
It's NOT a November Theme; being thankful should happen DAILY!!
Give Thanks in all things!!
Sunday; GAME DAY!!
We represented our Winning Texans.
Baked 2 pies; Chocolate Pecan Pie & Pecan Pie.
Headed over to a friends Tastefully Simple/Scentsy Party!
Afterwards, it was back to my place for the Pie/Mug Swap.
Good Friends; Good Times
Lots of YUMMY pies!!
Here's my fabulous [owl] Mug to add to the always growing collection.
We already have plans for another Mug Swap for 2012; Winter Themed!!
These events are becoming POPULAR!!
Can't complain when you have a fabulous group of ladies.

November [Daily] Challenge!

Are you ready for a daily burn on top of the other fabulous fitness routines you have going on?!?! You got it; Get busy with these 3 basic moves! You can do these 3 exercises ANYWHERE!! I have taken it outdoors with the picnic tables, bench, I've used the BOSU or Body Ball, my couch, chair, be creative when you can. Yes, you can do that, even with exercises.  Make sure you keep GOOD FORM with each exercise and repetition, it makes a HUGE difference! Even, if you have to stop to correct yourself.

Here it goes!
Planks; How long can hold it? In any variation because there are SO many. I kept entertained with a 'walking' plank today (a move from Les Mills Pump); Challenge Yourself! Check out this site for a list of plank variations, awesome challenge & works the body too. And, here's another good plank post.

Push ups; I'm currently using the push-up app, if you don't have it. Do as many push-up as you can for the plank time you just did. WOW! Here's a few different push up variations, you can chose from, you can modify them, you can use equipment with them like a body ball, BOSU, bench, couch; Challenge Yourself. And, here's another great push up post.

Tricep Dips; Use that plank time again and go for it!! Tricep dips can be done anywhere with practically anything, outdoors using a bench, indoors with a chair/body ball, couch or just your body; Challenge Yourself. Ouch!! Here's some info on what tricep dips do and form.

Hello, November!!

Here I go, here I go, here I go again....

Another Fabulous month ahead, and it's a busy one!! We got lots planned!! It's going to fly by, 2012 is almost overrrr!! Make things happen, do it BIG!! Get ir Done!

Running: I've got some miles to dedicate for the Memory Run, it's been hard to even give a number of miles.....

"Run The Gulf: 615 Miles" is well underway, today I logged in 3.11 [sweaty] miles in 36:22. The girls kept "content" in the playroom after our World Market, Starbucks, Barnes & Nobles Morning. They got new books, I got a new CD for the drive times. Win/Win!! It was rainy but it cleared up and the sun broke through on our walk home. Lunch, then naptime for the girls. And, I got bussaaayyyy!!

Daily Challenge: I started the Plank a Day/Push Up Challenge right after I finished up today's Les Mills Pump Workout. I had not used the Push ups APP since February; Whoa, way too long!!

BeachBody Programs: I'm on the last few weeks of Les Mills Pump (week 11-13).  My 2nd round, and whewww...it had its challenges, minimal squats and no lunges! Picked up the weights, to 30 lbs, feeling STRONG!! Biceps are popped out again, it's those pesky triceps that don't come easily. I've noticed my arms a bit more toned, but I want more definition. Always a work in progress. Always.......

BeachBody Programs:The other day BeachBody had an INSANE promotion for TURBOFIRE, only $53!!I actually took advantage. I had my eye on another [30 day] program, The Asylum!! But, I knew this was a killer program, with a few friends agreeing. I received an emailed yesterday, saying it's on it's way. AWESOME!! This will start immediately after I COMPLETE Les Mills Pump!

"TurboFire is the intense cardio conditioning program from fitness innovator Chalene Johnson. This 90-day weight loss and body slimming program will help you get leaner with exercises that can burn up to 9x more fat and calories than regular cardio does. To help you get started, TurboFire includes two low-impact workouts, plus the Fire Starter Class, which shows you the right form for each TurboFire move. And, with more than 20 smoking-hot remixes, the music will push you past your limits during all 14 workouts.
So forget the excuses. Forget the gym. Now the hottest fitness classes come to you."

Moms Run This Town: MRTT Holiday Challenge is still going on, you can check out all the fabulous prizes and more info at Pretty Little Loser, stay tuned for more details.

November 1 – 30 Once Through The Lips Challenge  Isn’t that the old adage? Once through the lips, forever on the hips? (and butt!) Well, we are going to prove that one WRONG as we kick ourselves in the ass for this challenge! Say hello to slimmer thighs and a tighter back end because that’s the focus for this month.

And, the MRTT Meetups, lets see how it works with rainy days. Once again, I talked to a Housing Representative and they are on board with having me host 'events' for the group. They are happy to have us reserve the family room for indoor workouts.I just have to submit info to have them approve for the meetup runs to add to the events calendar. Whoop! Whoop!!

Thankful Thursday!!

Today [everyday] I'm Thankful for my MOTIVATION!!!

I've always been motivated/passionate in everything I do!

Family first, motivated to giving them my best, even when husband is on deployment. Even, when I am tired, because some days that just happens. Even, when I am emotionally drained because I have to play mommy/daddy to 3 lively girls. I am MOTIVATED to give them my best. And, I do that without prompt, without hesitation, with my whole heart.
I'm that mama on the go, that is continuously asked, "how do you do it?"
They praise me, they are amazed, and sometimes, some feel sorry for me. Haha
No matter what, I do it because I am a Mama, I carried and gave birth to 3 healthy, beautiful, amazing girls and I am thriving [daily] to give them my best, to teach them, to inspire them. And, they tell me, they show me, they love me for what I do. It's NOT always pretty, or calm. It's a house full of girls, DRAMA!! And, we always have crazy days but that wouldn't be life if it wasn't a little crazy.

Another part of my MOTIVATION, is my drive for all things FITNESS!!
Just today, after my 5k Treadmill run, another mother runner, was wiping down the treadmill after her run. She asked, "what do you think about when you're running?", "what keeps you going?"  I smiled and said, "MY MUSIC" and there's a lot of thinking but it's mostly thinking of my run. She continued to say, that all she thinks about to not focus on running is what's for dinner and the cleaning she has to do. Hah! I try my hardest to NO think of things like that, I told her I usually focus on a goal for fun/time/miles. All while keeping an eye on my girls in the playroom, because Serena was back to climbing. Agh!! We shared the passion for running but she is still struggling on 'enjoying' it. I've got a half-marathon training schedule set-up for January. I've been having a hard time finding a full marathon training schedule that doesn't require huge miles and smaller ones that I can schedule into my week with my girls. After all, husband will STILL be on deployment, and even still after my half-marathon. He may or may not make it for the full marathon. Anyways, I'm still MOTIVATED to get ir done!!

That's just some of the motivation that I am continuously thankful for.
